For acne, the key wavelength is 415nm blue light, which targets the bacteria behind breakouts. Here are the masks that do it best.
415nm blue light kills P. acnes bacteria inside follicles. The best acne masks pair blue with red light (to calm inflammation and speed healing of post-acne marks). Masks with red light only won't treat active acne effectively.

LED light therapy reduces acne-causing bacteria and inflammation, but it doesn't address every cause of acne. Hormonal acne, in particular, often has root causes that light therapy alone won't resolve. If your acne is moderate to severe, persistent, or hormonal, see a dermatologist — LED can be a useful complement to medical treatment, not always a replacement.
Always use LED on clean, bare skin. Avoid retinoids, AHAs, or other photosensitizing products immediately before a session. Apply your acne treatments and moisturizer after the session — the increased circulation can actually improve absorption.
