Independent testing and reviews of LED face masks — no paid placements, no brand partnerships. Updated May 2026.
Every LED mask reviewed on this site goes through a structured 8–12 week evaluation. We document baseline skin condition under consistent lighting, track changes over time, and supplement our hands-on experience with manufacturer specifications and a synthesis of published, peer-reviewed research on photobiomodulation. We are clear about the limits of at-home testing: we are not a clinical lab, our sample size is our own team, and individual results vary. We tell you what we observed, what the published science supports, and where the marketing outruns the evidence.
| What We Test | How | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Anti-aging results | Consistent-lighting photos, skin texture observation | 8–12 weeks |
| Acne reduction | Breakout tracking, healing-time observation | 8 weeks |
| Comfort & fit | Daily wear notes, strap pressure, heat | First 2 weeks |
| Session convenience | Real-world daily use, setup time, portability | Ongoing |
| Wavelength claims | Cross-reference with published clinical evidence | Pre-testing |
| Build quality | Inspection, durability, cleaning | First week |
Plus 7 additional masks that did not make our recommended list due to weak wavelengths, poor build quality, or insufficient power density.
